Abstract
We will explore the quantum modification of a classical, gravitational effect present in a coalescing binary, the tidal heating. A binary in coalescence is made by two black holes which are orbiting around each other, emitting gravitational waves that arrive to infinity or are absorbed by the black holes involved. Going closer, the black holes arrive at a distance at which it starts the fusion between them, producing a final one. Due to the presence of a spacetime minimal length, is actually present also a minimal step in horizon area for black holes. This impacts directly on the dynamics of tidal heating, which is related to the absorption of energy by a black hole through its horizon.
