Abstract

This thesis analyzes the phenomenon of food and wine tourism in Italy, a rapidly expanding sector that combines the enhancement of cultural and territorial heritage with the promotion of typical local products, representing one of the most strategic sectors for the country's tourism economy. The main objective is to understand the key role of food and wine tourism as a driver of economic, cultural, and social development, with a specific focus on the Italian Days company, which stands out for offering authentic, personalized, and immersive experiences. The work is organized into three parts: the first chapter outlines the general context of food and wine tourism, highlighting its historical evolution, travelers' motivations, and tourist profiles. The main attractive regions of Italy are also highlighted. The second chapter focuses on the Italian Days company, exploring its history, mission, the variety and quality of services offered, and its innovative business model based on experiential storytelling, sustainability, and the strategic use of digital channels for marketing and communication. The third chapter presents an in-depth SWOT analysis, identifying the company's strengths and weaknesses, as well as the opportunities and threats arising from the competitive environment and socio-economic and market changes. The thesis emphasizes how food and wine tourism is a fundamental lever for the economic growth of many destinations, promoting a responsible, inclusive, and sustainable tourism model that focuses on the authentic value of food culture and the territory. Furthermore, it highlights how the ability to combine tradition and digital innovation is a winning key to competing in an increasingly demanding and dynamic global market.
