Abstract
The objective of this thesis is to illustrate and evaluate the potential of augmented reality in the industrial field, with a focus on the design of an AR service to support operational activities, maintenance, and training.
The approach was based on the use of service design and experience development, aiming to provide a structured method that clearly defines content, architectures, and user interaction. The design was carried out with consideration of the reference ecosystem and was supported by tools such as experience maps, microservice diagrams, and a content strategy canvas. The goal is to offer a solid contextual and design foundation that can fully support (in a later phase) the development of an augmented reality service. The project is the result of a training internship at SCM Group, an Italian company and leader in the woodworking machinery sector.
