Sharing economy and Web: A stormy relationship within a startup development context

This paperwork serves as a confirmation of a curricular internship done together with Quinck Srl, in order to participate in the development of a web app for the start-up Bonobo, featuring a library of objects that enables users to lend and borrow devices from one another when needed. In particular, this thesis will focus on understanding the contribution that this startup could bring in fostering circular economy practices and sustainability. As you can guess from the title of this thesis, the main goal of this thesis is to explain the complicated relationship between the sharing economy and the ever-increasing digitalization. Indeed, even though web platforms play a very important role in the development of the sharing economy and as a support tool in encouraging sustainability practices, they are also part of the problem due to their increasing complexity. This will always be done not just by considering the current literature but also through confrontations among all the stakeholders involved in this project.
