Abstract
Prosthetic Taekwondo Adapter (PTKDA) is a project aimed at developing a control system for upper limb prostheses in the field of Poomsae, a discipline in Para-Taekwondo. The system is designed to enable athletes to perform a sequence of complex movements by controlling their myoelectric prosthesis. It is developed as an add-on to the prosthesis's existing functions and is intended to be user-friendly. In this thesis, the PTKDA system is developed conceptually to define its functionality. Additionally, a demonstrator is created as proof of concept. This involves integrating a microcontroller into a prosthetic hand and designing an app to control it. Ultimately, the realized demonstrator validates the feasibility of the PTKDA system, paving the way for expanding the repertoire of movements available to para-athletes.
