Abstract
Green supply chain management (GSCM) refers to the integration of environmental thinking into various mechanisms of the supply chain in a manner that the organization leaves as little negative footprints on the environment as possible. The literature shows contradictory evidence regarding the effect of GSCM on firm economic, operational, and organizational performance. Therefore, the present study tests the available hypotheses in the context of Italian manufacturers to understand and navigate the relationship between the implementation of green supply chain management and the firm’s environmental, economic, operational, and organizational performance. The study's results reveal unique patterns witnessed in the Italian manufacturing scene. In particular, the present research found which GSCM practices correlate more significantly with these companies’ performance. Furthermore, the mediated correlational relationships were navigated, evidencing that enhanced environmental performance positively related to better economic and organizational performance.
