Abstract

This thesis, "Strategies for Corrosion Protection on Offshore Wind Foundation Structures through Coating Applications," concentrates on the pivotal role of coatings in safeguarding offshore wind turbine foundations from corrosion. It elucidates how coatings act as a critical barrier against the harsh marine environment, characterized by saltwater exposure, high humidity, and relentless wind and wave action. The study delves into the selection and application of various coating materials, emphasizing their effectiveness in preventing the electrochemical reactions that lead to corrosion. By highlighting the technological innovations and advancements in coating applications, the research underscores the necessity of coatings in extending the service life, ensuring structural integrity, and reducing the maintenance costs of offshore wind infrastructures.
