Abstract

This thesis focuses on the design and analysis of these integrative metallic structures within a 22-storey hotel tower, exploring their role as non-structural yet essential components of the building's overall structural system. Through advanced computational modeling, the design and verification of these elements are carried out using Finite Element Method (FEM) software for the main structure, and Component-Based Finite Element Method (CBFEM) software for steel connections. This dual-software approach allows for precise simulations of both the primary and secondary structural systems, ensuring optimal performance under a variety of conditions. Key aspects of the study include verifying the strength of metallic elements, evaluating deformation behaviors, assessing ductility, and ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards. The combination of FEM and CBFEM provides a comprehensive framework for analyzing not only the main structural elements but also the crucial steel connections that link these non-structural components to the overall system. This holistic approach ensures that the entire structural system, including these metallic non-structural elements, performs cohesively and reliably.
