Abstract
The main purpose of this dissertation is to acknowledge potential risks of sexist disparagement humor, as I will mainly focus on research that proves how it holds a significant influential power on our society, on the perpetuation of traditional sexist gender roles and discrimination on women. I will also prove that this issue can be severely underestimated, due to the deceptively unserious and humorous form of such statements, and result in a more frequent and normalized usage of belittling jokes at women’s expenses, inserting an influential media personality – former President of the United States Donald J. Trump – as an example to demonstrate my hypothesis.
