Abstract

This thesis explores the integration of advanced 3D surveying techniques, namely laser scanning and photogrammetry, with thermal imaging to produce comprehensive 3D models of objects with embedded thermal data. The aim is to investigate the feasibility and effectiveness of combining these technologies to enhance the understanding and analysis of various structures, particularly the diagnosis field. The research methodology involves conducting 3D surveys using terrestrial laser scanner and close-range photogrammetry, alongside thermal imaging, to capture both geometric and thermal information of the structure. Subsequently, advanced data processing techniques are employed to combine the acquired datasets and generate integrated 3D models with embedded thermal imagery. The study evaluates the accuracy, efficiency, and practicality of this integrated approach, assessing its potential applications in various fields such as architecture, heritage conservation, structural engineering, and environmental monitoring.
