Abstract
Lactobionic acid in an intriguing compound that has been already studied as antioxidant and antimicrobial compound. This project focused on identifying suitable polymer carriers for the release of LBA for possible use in pharmaceutical products. For these applications, ideally, the polymer should have limited solubility in water to prevent extraction from the polymer matrix and has it should possess functional groups to make it possible to fine-tune the rate of release.
