Abstract

This project aimed to optimize the production of a specific group of hydraulic distributors, focusing on both performance and manufacturability. The study began with an overview of hydraulic distributors, identifying their key functions and the critical design parameters that influence their performance and efficiency. In particular, components such as the spool and distributor body were examined, with particular attention to geometric features — such as internal flow passages — that can significantly influence flow characteristics, pressure drop, and overall distributor reliability. Building on this foundation, an optimization study was conducted on a specific group of distributor families, including the BC20, BC35, and BM series, through the introduction of a redesigned spool. Using the Finite Element Method (FEM) in ANSYS, the mechanical integrity of the distributor body was evaluated under representative working pressure conditions. The results confirmed that the redesigned spool could be safely integrated into the compatible distributor families, maintaining structural safety while providing additional functional advantages. Furthermore, the optimized configuration resulted in a more compact assembly, reducing material usage and production costs. Overall, the study demonstrates that the proposed spool modification is technically feasible and can provide a more efficient and cost-effective solution for future applications.
