Abstract
This thesis investigates the differences in terms of Foreign Language Anxiety (FLA) in Italian university students, comparing the relevance of this phenomenon in two main groups: one made up of students who are specifically studying to become language professionals (such as interpreters, translators and language teachers), and a second group of students enrolled in non-linguistic university degree programs. The research was carried out using a two-part questionnaire, distributed among participants with the goal of providing insights into the presence of FLA in future language professionals. The practical goal of the collected data is to contribute to the creation of teaching strategies and support mechanisms to reduce foreign language anxiety in students likely to pursue a career in the language industry.
