Abstract
From Diesel to OTB, transitioning from denim to a dedication to societal responsibilities. Moving from a modest local enterprise to a conglomerate recognized among the world's esteemed luxury labels.
Throughout its history, the company has been associated with technology, as evidenced by the fact that it was the first in the fashion industry to launch an e-commerce website in 1995.
This paper discusses one of the latest significant investments made by the group from a technological and logistics perspective, namely the Autostore automated warehouse.
The final objective is to propose an implementation of the performance analysis that the company has already started, keeping under consideration the necessity to only rely on the information provided by the system.
Since fashion is the core business of the group, the paper starts with an introduction to the world of fashion and its history.
The text moves on to a presentation of the company, starting with its origins and highlighting the key points. It follows a discussion on the world of logistics, warehousing and automated storage technologies, introducing then the Autostore technology with more depth.
The final chapter focuses on the current 'as-is' performance assessment of autonomous vehicle storage and retrieving system (AVS/RS) and a proposal for the implementation of the analysis itself.
