Abstract

The offshore wind industry's expansion into deeper waters has made traditional foundation structures like monopiles less economically viable. This shift has spurred the development of floating wind turbines, secured in place by mooring lines anchored to the seabed. Thus, due to the importance of mooring and anchoring systems, in this work research focuses on anchor foundation concepts capable of withstanding substantial vertical and horizontal loads, and costs estimations various type of anchoring and mooring systems through the investigation of a south-west shore of Sicily in Italy as a case study.
