Abstract

In an era where safeguarding sensitive information is paramount, this thesis delves into enhancing cybersecurity within Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Focusing on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, the study is conducted within a Microsoft partner organization’s system. The research encompasses stages such as initiation, literature review, data analysis, and proposal formulation. The proposed encryption management system presents a comprehensive suite of functionalities, ensuring robust protection against cyber threats. By introducing an authorization system, access to sensitive data is meticulously controlled based on user roles. The proposed encryption management system involves the encryption of sensitive data categories, including passwords, financial data, and sensitive employee information. This theoretical endeavor not only fortifies the ERP system but also lays the foundation for controlled access to critical information. The study contributes to the field of cybersecurity within ERP systems, providing valuable insights for future research and development.
