Abstract
With the push of feminist and LGBTQIA+ movements, the role of language as a bridge towards a more just and inclusive society has been increasingly recognized. Since each language is different, each language will also develop a different approach to inclusivity and have different strategies to achieve the goal of making every individuals visible in language. This paper will focus on gender inclusivity in English and Italian language, starting with the analysis of discriminatory and binary aspects of the use of these languages, to then explore the strategies for mitigation proposed in these languages' speaking community. In the end, the paper will also provide two practical examples of the application of inclusivity in the profession of healthcare interpreting and conference interpreting.
