Abstract
The content of this thesis describes the work done during a six-month
internship at Datalogic, in its research laboratories in Pasadena (CA). The aim of my research was to implement and evaluate a classifier as part of an industrial OCR system for learning purposes and to see how well it could work in comparison to current best Datalogic products, since it might be simpler/faster, it might be a good alternative for implementing on an embedded system (where current Datalogic products may not be able to run fast enough).
